Tourist Angel · Castle District, Castle Hill
A two-hour guided loop of the Castle District from the Holy Trinity Column, past Matthias Church and Fisherman's Bastion to the Royal Palace courtyards and back. Pick it for the lowest price of any guided castle walk, knowing it stays outdoors and entry tickets are extra.

Tourist Angel's walk is the budget option and does what it says. You start at the Baroque Holy Trinity Column, circle the Gothic Matthias Church from outside, take in the Danube and Parliament from the Fisherman's Bastion terraces, then walk the cobbled streets to Sándor Palace and the Royal Palace courtyards. The Buda side of the hill gets a stop too, with a view over the wooded Buda Hills from the medieval walls. You end back at the column.
Read the small print: no interiors. The listing says plainly that it does not go inside the church or the palace museums; the guide tells you how to buy tickets afterwards. Matthias Church closes at 5pm and often shuts for weddings, and the palace museums close on Mondays. For $13 that is a fair deal. The grounds you see are free anyway, and you're paying for a guide to string the stories together.
Guests report friendly guides who find shade on hot days and give tips for the rest of the trip. Tips for the guide are not included and some guests expect to add one, so bring cash. Events at the palace can block access to parts of the courtyard on some days.
Meet on Szentháromság tér, in front of Matthias Church.
Matthias Church from outside, then the free terraces of Fisherman's Bastion and the Parliament view.
The old residential lanes to Sándor Palace, where the guards stand outside.
Fountains, terraces and views of the Margaret, Chain, Elisabeth and Liberty bridges.
The medieval walls on the Buda side, then back to the column after two hours.
